What does TicketCounts.io read from Universe?
Only what a count needs: who you are, the hosts you belong to, your posted events and each event's rates (ticket types) with their sold counts. It never reads attendees, buyers, orders or payments, and it never changes your events. The table lists every item; the access note below covers the one scope requested.

Access and scopes
TicketCounts.io requests Universe's `public` OAuth scope and only runs GraphQL queries (reads); it never runs mutations that change your events. How are Universe ticket counts calculated?
A report adds up Universe's own sold count for each admission rate, split into paid rates and free rates. Add-on rates are left out. The count is read from Universe when the report is sent, never estimated, so it matches what Universe reported at that moment.
- Paid tickets are rates with a price above 0; free tickets are rates with a price of 0.
- Add-on rates are not counted.
- Sold counts come from Universe's own per-rate sold count.
- Capacity is the sum of the rate capacities when every admission rate has one; otherwise it is left blank.

What does a Universe count report look like?
The same email as for Eventbrite, with paid and free totals in place of the ticket-type breakdown: the event and the tickets sold, from your organization's name via TicketCounts.io, with Universe named as the source. From the second report on, it also shows the change since the last one.

- The event name and tickets sold, with a breakdown by ticket type (Eventbrite) or paid and free totals (Universe).

Setup
How do I connect Universe?
4 steps in your dashboard, and recipients never need a Universe login. Send yourself a test first if you want to see the email before the first scheduled send. TicketCounts.io refreshes the access token before it expires, so you normally don't need to sign in again.
Step 1: Open Integrations in your TicketCounts.io dashboard and choose Connect Universe.
Step 2: Sign in to Universe and approve the connection.
Step 3: Create a report: pick the host and the event, add recipients and set the schedule.
Step 4: Optionally send yourself a test email first; the report then goes out on its schedule.
Universe and Eventbrite
Can I use Universe and Eventbrite in the same account?
Yes. Connect both to one TicketCounts.io account. Each report covers one event on one platform, so a Universe show and an Eventbrite show each get their own report, recipients and schedule, and both count toward the same plan. The Free plan runs 1 report at a time; paid plans run 10 to 100.

FAQ
Universe integration questions
Is Universe the same as Ticketmaster?
Universe is a Ticketmaster company, but it is its own ticketing platform with its own accounts. TicketCounts.io connects to Universe accounts, and only to Universe accounts: an event sold on any other Ticketmaster product cannot be read.
What access does TicketCounts.io ask Universe for?
Universe offers one OAuth scope, public, and TicketCounts.io asks for only that. It runs read-only queries and never changes your events, and it never reads attendee or buyer details.
Does the Universe connection expire?
Universe access tokens expire; TicketCounts.io refreshes them automatically before they do. Disconnecting revokes the token with Universe and pauses that account's reports. Stored tokens are encrypted (AES-256-GCM).
Which Universe events can I report on?
Posted events of the host you choose, searchable by name. Reports for an event that has ended or been canceled pause on their own.
Are Universe add-ons counted?
No. Add-on rates are left out. A report counts admission tickets only, and shows paid and free totals when a show has both.
Do recipients need a Universe account?
No. Recipients only get the email. They don't need a Universe login or a TicketCounts.io account, and each one can unsubscribe from any report.
