Sales pace

Sales pace is how fast tickets are selling, measured as tickets sold per day over a period.

Also called: ticket sales pace, sales velocity, burn rate, pace

Last updated

Definition

Pace shows whether a show is on track long before it sells out or stalls. Teams compare the last day or week with the average since on-sale, and with past shows at the same number of days out.

Formula

Pace = (tickets sold now − tickets sold at the start of the period) ÷ days in the period

Worked example

380 sold last Monday and 450 sold this Monday is a pace of 10 tickets a day.

Illustrative numbers, not a real show.

In a TicketCounts.io report

Each scheduled TicketCounts.io report shows the current total and the change since the previous report, so a daily report gives recipients the day-by-day pace.
