Sell-through

Sell-through is the share of available tickets that have sold, usually shown as a percentage of capacity.

Also called: sell-through rate, sell through, percent sold

Definition

Sell-through tells partners how full a show is. Some teams divide by gross capacity, others by sellable capacity after kills and holds, so say which one you use. Agents compare sell-through across markets on a tour.

Formula

Sell-through % = tickets sold ÷ capacity × 100

Worked example

410 tickets sold in a 500-cap room is 82% sell-through.

Illustrative numbers, not a real show.

In a TicketCounts.io report

A TicketCounts.io report shows sell-through as a percent of cap (for example "82% of 500 cap") when the ticketing platform returns the event's capacity.
