Holds
Holds are tickets kept off general sale for the artist, production, the promoter or sponsors, and released later if not used.

Definition
Holds reserve inventory without selling it. Unused holds are usually released back to sale before the show. They are tracked separately from kills, which are removed permanently for that event.
Formula
Available to sell = capacity − sold − comps − holds − kills
Worked example
An artist asks for 20 held seats; 12 are used as comps and 8 are released to the public the week of the show.
