GBOR (gross box office receipts)

GBOR, gross box office receipts, is the total face value of tickets sold for a show before any deductions.

Also called: gross box office, gross, GBOR

Last updated

Definition

GBOR adds up every ticket sold at its face price across all price levels. Taxes, facility fees and ticketing fees are then deducted to reach NBOR, which most deals are calculated on.

Formula

GBOR = Σ (tickets sold at each price × face price)

Worked example

290 tickets at $25 and 190 at $30 is a GBOR of $12,950.

Illustrative numbers, not a real show.
